Bought a $180 tube roller die set that sits in my box collecting dust
Honestly, I blame the guy at the supply house over in Gary who sold me on it. He talked up how fast these rollers would eat through 2 inch schedule 40 without kinking, and I bit hard and dropped $180 right there on the counter. I figured it would pay for itself in a couple of jobs, and I had a tank run coming up in Hammond so the timing felt right. Tbh it was a total waste. The dies are sized for thin wall tube and every piece of pipe I run is heavier than that, so the rollers just bite and stall out on my bench. I spent a Saturday fooling with it and got maybe 3 decent bends out of 20 before I went back to my torch and sand bucket. Ngl that money would have been way better spent on new leathers and a decent hood. Has anybody found a roller setup that actually handles heavy wall pipe, or am I just built for the old way?
