Can we talk about how I thought phone tripods were a gimmick until my niece's wedding in Cleveland
I always figured those little bendy phone tripods were just junk people buy and never use, so when my wife got me one for $15 at a Target in Cleveland I kinda rolled my eyes. I brought it to my niece's wedding last month mostly to be polite, and the reception hall had these dim string lights that made every handheld shot come out as a smear of faces. I propped the phone on the tripod on a dinner table, tapped the timer, and let it sit for a two second exposure. The difference was honestly nuts, I could actually read the place cards in the back of the room instead of guessing. First dance shots that would've been pure motion blur came out sharp enough to print, all because the phone wasn't moving an inch. I'm not saying it fixes everything, low light still gets grainy, but I stopped blaming my phone for blurry pics and started blaming my hands. Has anyone else had luck with the timer trick or do you go straight for a real camera in dim rooms?
