The final page in that obscure sci-fi novel swapped my whole take on the plot
I grabbed a beat-up paperback called The Last Orbit from a used bin in Austin for like $3. The whole book is a slow burn about a space station crew, and I figured the finale would be them fixing a reactor or something. Instead, the last page flips to a first person note from the station cat, saying it watched them all fail years ago. I never saw that twist coming, and it made me rethink every chapter before it. Has anyone else had a book where the ending completely reframed the earlier chapters for you?
