Pro tip: skip the last chapter, that is how I finally got through that 700 page brick from the library sale
I grabbed a 700 page novel at a library sale in Toledo for a dollar and got stuck around page 400 for almost 3 weeks. My sister said just read the last chapter first and I thought that would wreck it, but it actually fixed everything. Knowing where the characters land made the middle part way less confusing, and I finished the rest in 5 days. Then I went back and read that final chapter again and it hit way harder than it would have. Now I do this with any book over 500 pages because I hate dragging through a slow part not knowing if it pays off. Has anyone else tried reading the ending first, or does that ruin it for you?
