Paid $28 for a used paperback at a shop in Savannah and the last page made me throw it across the room
I want to vent about a thriller I picked up two weeks ago. I paid $28 for a used paperback at a little shop in Savannah, felt good about it because the guy behind the counter said it was his favorite ending of all time. I get to the last chapter and out of nowhere there is a nuclear strike that kills everybody, no setup, no hint, nothing. The whole plot about the missing sister? Forget it, none of it mattered, everyone just dies on page 388. I felt robbed, not confused, just robbed of my $28 and my Saturday. Has anyone else run into an ending that feels like the author gave up, and did you ever find out why they did it?
