My high school English teacher's 'nobody survives' rule was dead wrong

Mrs. Delgado in Fort Worth told me every great book needs a definitive ending, no loose threads. So I spent years frustrated by ambiguous closers until I read The Master and Margarita at 32 and realized the chaos is the point. That wild finale made me rethink all the endings I hated in my twenties, and now I chase confusion on purpose. Anyone else find an 'unfinished' ending that actually made the whole book better?
