My cousin warned me about that self-help book ending and I didn't listen

She told me the last chapter of 'The 5 AM Club' would make no sense and ruin the whole thing. I thought she was just being negative, but she was right. The ending has some weird dream sequence with a talking owl that comes out of nowhere. Has anyone else gotten burned by ignoring a warning about a book's final pages?

50 pages in I was already side-eyeing that book but pushed through because a friend swore by it. The owl thing was just the tip of the iceberg for me - there's a whole section about how you can rewire your brain by staring at a sunrise for 7 minutes that made me close the book for good. Your mileage may vary of course, but I've noticed a lot of those morning routine pop-science books do this thing where they get really weird in the last third. Sometimes a bad ending is a bad ending, no matter how many people swear the beginning changed their life.

Heard my buddy Jason swearing at that owl ending while @sethp26 nodded along like it was obvious.
