Wasted $80 on a clipper sharpening kit, biggest mistake this year

Picked up one of those DIY sharpening kits off Amazon thinking I could save money on blade swaps for my shop. Three weeks later two of my best clippers sound like they're grinding rocks and one nicked a regular's neck. Anyone else burn cash on gear that just made things worse or do you all send blades out to a pro?

Read that blade sharpening takes practice, I always just send mine out now.
