Warning: the old timer who said never fade below a 1 on the sides was wrong and I have proof from last Tuesday
Last Tuesday a walk in at my shop in Boise asked for a low taper and against everything I was taught I took him down to a skin fade line and blended up, and he came back two weeks later saying it grew out cleaner than any cut he ever got. I told a guy at the supply house and he said I was ruining the trade, but honestly the client's hair grew out even and he tipped $15 on a $35 cut. Any of you actually try fading below a 1 on guys with thick straight hair, or am I the only one breaking the rule?
