Tried using a straight razor on myself for the first time and it went exactly how you'd expect
I've been cutting hair for 3 years and figured it was time to finally test my skills on my own face with a Feather Artist Club razor. First pass on my cheek I must have had the angle wrong because I carved a nice little chunk right out of my skin, blood everywhere. Did anybody else's first self-shave end up looking like a crime scene too?

Did you end up needing stitches or did it stop bleeding after a few minutes of panicking in the mirror? My first straight razor shave looked a lot like a Jackson Pollock painting, just way less artistic and way more terrifying. Now I stick to my safety razor and leave the straight edge to the professionals (which is definitely not me).

Haha the "few minutes of panicking in the mirror" part is way too real. I did the exact same thing, just staring at myself like "well, this is how I die." It actually stopped bleeding after like ten minutes of pressing a towel to my face, but I looked like I got into a fight with a cheese grater. I still ended up with a couple tiny scars on my jawline that I notice in certain lighting. My biggest mistake was thinking I could get that perfect barbershop shave on my first try without any practice. Now I just stick to my electric trimmer and call it a day.
