Stopped washing my clippers with the spray and switched to a toothbrush, blades last way longer now
I run a two chair shop in Boise and for the first few years I was hitting my clippers with the aerosol cleaner after every cut like most folks do. Problem was my blades kept getting gummed up and pulling hair, and I was replacing a set about every 8 months at $40 a pop. Back in March one of my older clients who used to cut hair in the 80s asked why I was spraying so much, and he said the spray just pushes the hair deeper into the blade instead of getting it out. So I tried dry brushing first with a cheap toothbrush, then a drop of oil, and only use the spray maybe once a week now. It takes an extra 20 seconds per cut but my current blade set is going on 6 months and still cuts like new. Anyone else brush instead of spray, or am I late to this party?
