Spent $60 on a clipper that was supposed to be 'quiet'
Bought a Wahl clipper last month that claimed to be whisper quiet but it still sounds like a lawnmower next to a sleeping kid.

Yeah that "whisper quiet" claim is total marketing fluff. It's like how every food package says "natural flavors" like that means anything. I've noticed this pattern with anything marketed to parents - they slap a word on it that sounds good but has zero legal definition. "Quiet" clippers, "gentle" baby wipes, "calming" nightlights. None of it means jack until you actually try it out. It just makes you feel stupid for believing the hype.

Wow... "natural flavors" as a comparison actually makes way too much sense and now I'm way more annoyed at those clippers than I was before haha.
