PSA: My clipper blade slipped and cut a customer's ear lobe open last Wednesday

I was doing a skin fade on a regular at my shop in Phoenix and got too comfortable talking about the Suns game, blade caught the top of his ear, blood everywhere, had to grab styptic powder and a bandage while apologizing like crazy - anyone else had a close call like that and changed how you hold your clippers near the ears?

Just a tiny tilt on the back of the blade works for me.

Honestly, "tiny tilt" is exactly right. I was wrecking my hairline for weeks trying to get that perfect line and kept over-correcting. One day I just nudged the heel of the blade maybe a millimeter and it was night and day. No more digging in or leaving those weird stepped patches. It's wild how such a small change can make everything click.
