Noticed new barbers blending too high up the head, makes everything look off
I was watching a guy do a fade on a walk-in last Tuesday and he kept his clippers an inch above the occipital bone. Soon as he turned the chair around the whole top looked flat and disconnected from the sides. It kills the shape because you lose the natural curve of the head. Anybody else see this a lot with newer people or is it just me noticing it more lately?

Blending too high works fine if you're doing a flat top.

Yeah, @hugo645 I totally get what you're saying. A lot of people get freaked out by high RPM blending but on a flat top it's really not a big deal. I've done some rough blends that way and they turned out just fine. The trick is just making sure your surfaces are actually flat or you'll get weird hot spots. Have you ever had any issues with it on a slightly warped piece?
