My old clipper oil trick just hit the skids, now I use food-grade grease

Used to oil my Andis clippers with WD-40 for like 8 years until I fried a motor last March, smelled like a barbecue. Switched to a drop of food-grade silicone grease on the pivot pin, it glides quieter and I don't worry about it dripping on a client's neck. Anyone else had a lube fail that ruined a blade set?
