Clipped a guy's ear with the trimmer 15 years ago and still check twice
I was working at a shop on Grand Ave in St. Paul back in 2009 and got too comfortable speeding through a fade on a regular when the corner of my trimmer nicked his ear pretty good. I stopped right there, cleaned it up, gave him the cut for free, and started keeping a styptic pencil within arm's reach on my station ever since. Any of you old timers got a moment like that which changed how you work?
Fifteen years of double checking because of one nick? Cmon man, barbers clip ears sometimes, it happens. Dudes bleed a little, you clean it up, they laugh it off, done. Ive seen guys take way worse and nobody needed a lifetime of checking twice over it. You gave him a free cut and moved on, thats already more than most would do. Sounds like you just felt bad and turned it into a whole thing in your head.
