Changed my tune on walk-ins after a Tuesday rush
I used to turn away walk-ins no matter what, figured appointments were the only way to keep my chair full. Last Tuesday three guys came in back to back, all just wanted a quick fade and a lineup, and I cleared $95 in under an hour. One of them said, "Man, I never book ahead, I just need a trim when I need it," and that kinda hit me. Now I keep two open slots a day just for walk-ins, but I'm still figuring out the right time to offer that without screwing my regulars. Anyone else find a sweet spot for last-minute customers?

And honestly, keeping those two open slots is the move, but you gotta treat them like a rolling thing instead of a set block. I've seen barbers post "walk-in friendly til 3" or whatever and it just ends up being dead time they could've booked out. Maybe try slotting them right after your busiest morning appointments, that way the regulars still get their times and the walk-ins catch you when you're already warmed up.
