Barber in Austin told me to quit using clipper oil on my blades

I went to a shop in Austin last month and the barber there said clipper oil attracts dust and messes up the tension. Has anyone else switched to a dry lubricant spray instead?

nah clipper oil's fine if you wipe off the excess, the real issue is people drowning the blade in it

Yeah man exactly. People just don't know when to stop. A couple drops is plenty, but they act like they're oiling a deep fryer. It's the same thing with everything though. People think more is always better. More oil, more seasoning, more product. They don't realize that drowning something just makes a mess and wastes your money. This is true for car maintenance too. My buddy keeps pouring extra coolant in his truck and now it's all over his driveway. A little goes a long way in pretty much anything you do.
