Rant: Sourdough snobs need to chill about commercial yeast

I keep seeing people say you have to use a 3-month-old starter for proper bread, but I used store-bought yeast last weekend and my loaf came out perfect in half the time. Why do we act like spending weeks nursing a starter is the only way to get good crust?

Store yeast works fine, who cares if some internet baker thinks their starter is superior?

Why does it have to be a competition though... I used store yeast for years and my bread was always fine, got crispy crust and everything. Honestly the starter thing feels like a hobby for people with too much time on their hands, not a requirement for good bread.
