My sourdough starter survived a 10 day power outage, barely
We lost power here in Cleveland for 10 days back in February and I was sure my 3 year old starter was done for. I kept it in a cooler with a warm water bottle, but it still turned gray and smelled like vinegar by day 6. I fed it small amounts every 12 hours for 4 days straight after the power came back, and it finally bounced back enough to make a decent loaf. Has anyone else nursed a starter back from the brink, or did you just give up and start over?
