My loaf of bread looked like a sad pancake yesterday

I forgot to check if my yeast was still active, used some from a packet that's been in the cabinet since 2022. The dough barely rose and came out flat as a tortilla. Anyone else just toss old yeast and hope for the best?

Oh man, that's rough. I've definitely been there with expired yeast and ended up with some pretty sad-looking bread myself. It's like we're all just hoping for a miracle that never comes.

I did the exact same thing last month with a 2021 packet and ended up with a frisbee instead of bread. It's funny how we'll gamble on expired yeast but won't touch milk a day past its date.
