My grandma actually cried when I got the chiffon cake right on my third try
She took one bite at her kitchen table last Sunday and said 'this is exactly how my mother used to make it' which hit me way harder than I expected, has anyone else had a baking win that made a family member emotional like that?

i had a friend who spent like 3 hours on a cake for her dad's birthday. he was going thru a rough time and she wanted to do something special. when she brought it out he just broke down crying. sometimes its not about the cake itself, its about the person feeling seen and loved when theyre in a dark place. you dont have to get it, but crying over a cake can mean a whole lot more than you think.

Feel you on this one. It's wild how food can just unlock something deep in people, especially when it connects back to a memory they thought was faded. For your grandma to say that, it means you didn't just bake a cake, you brought her mom back to her for a second. That's a big deal, even if it looks simple from the outside.
