My $40 digital scale finally made my sourdough starter behave after months of guesswork.

I was eyeballing flour and water for ages, but the scale's precision gave me consistent hydration and my loaves stopped being dense bricks, so has anyone else found a specific tool that fixed a long-running baking problem?

Oven thermometer crew represent, @the_angela! My cheap analog one stopped my electric oven's wild temperature swings from torching everything. We think scales add fuss, but a good thermometer gave me the same "aha moment" of control over my mystery oven. Sometimes the missing piece is the tool that removes a variable you didn't even know was ruining things.

Honestly scales just add more fuss... my grandma baked perfect bread for 60 years using nothing but a coffee mug to measure. Sometimes all that precision just kills the feel for it.

Got a lame oven thermometer that changed everything.
