Serious question, has your oven ever just died mid-bake?
I was in the middle of a big wedding cake order in my home kitchen last Tuesday when the oven shut off completely, leaving three tiers half-baked. I had to rush them to a friend's commercial kitchen across town to finish. How do you even plan for something like that?

@leelewis that's a good point about preheating but mine totally died mid bake. Read somewhere that ovens with digital controls are more likely to just shut off randomly compared to the old knob style ones. Something about the circuit boards frying. I replaced mine with a basic model after that happened. Still paranoid about it happening again though.
