Swapped my old plywood shed roof for metal panels last spring

I used to just patch my shed roof with more plywood every few years... then that big storm in March 2023 ripped a whole corner off. I ended up going with corrugated metal from a local supplier near Salem, cost me about $180 total. Has anyone else made that switch and noticed less leaking?

4 years ago I put metal on my 8x10 shed and honestly it was a mistake. The noise during rain is ridiculous, sounds like a drum line in my backyard. And the condensation underneath caused my plywood decking to rot out faster than the old shingles ever did. Had to pull it all off and treat the wood. My buddy in Portland did the same swap and his screws started backing out after one winter.

Dude I had almost the same problem with my 12x16 shed. Swapped to metal and the noise was brutal plus the condensation was rotting out the osb in less than two years. What fixed it for me was I put down a layer of that foam underlayment stuff they sell for standing seam roofs right on top of the plywood before the metal went on. Cut the noise by like 75% and stopped the sweating underneath. Also switched to those rubber washer screws with a thicker gauge and never had a single one back out. Been three years now and the decking is still solid.
