Shed kit from the box store vs. framing one myself with a buddy, and the gap was bigger than I figured
Last spring I put up a 10x12 shed in my backyard in Boise, and I went with a metal kit from the box store because I thought it would save time. The kit took two full Saturdays and the floor still felt flimsy, so when my buddy asked for help with his, we framed it from scratch with 2x4s and plywood over three weekends. His cost about $400 more in lumber but the walls are solid and we got the door hung square on the first try. Is it just me, or does anyone else feel like those kits trade a little money for a lot of extra cussing later?
