Rained for 3 days straight and my shed roof held up fine but the floor rotted out
I live in Seattle so I figured the roof was the main worry, but I woke up last Thursday to a soft spot near the back corner where water had been pooling under the skirting for months. Tore out three sheets of plywood and replaced them with pressure-treated, plus dug a small trench with gravel to redirect runoff. Anybody else dealt with sneaky ground moisture issues?

Honestly I always thought roofing was the only real concern but now I'm paranoid about ground moisture too.

Hold on, ground moisture actually matters that much? Never even crossed my mind, @drew_grant52.

Actually I'd push back on this a little because sometimes people overreact to a bit of ground moisture when their roof is already doing the heavy lifting. I mean, a little water under the floor isn't great but if the shed is on a proper gravel base and the roof sheds water fine, it's not like the whole thing is going to collapse tomorrow. Plenty of sheds sit on cinder blocks with no floor at all and last for decades, so maybe the real issue is just how much we panic about imperfect conditions.
