Rain barrel bracket snapped and flooded my shed floor last night

I had this 55 gallon rain barrel hooked up to my downspout for about 8 months. The plastic bracket that holds it against the wall just cracked clean in half around midnight during that storm. Woke up to 40 gallons of water all over my tool bench and an inch of standing water in the shed. Had to spend my morning shop-vaccing and moving everything out to dry. Anyone else had those cheap barrel brackets fail on them? What are you using instead?

Man, isn't that always how it goes? The one part you think will hold up forever fails at the worst possible time. Feels like everything's made to last just long enough for you to get comfortable.

Exactly. My buddy Tom had this old lawnmower that ran like a champ for like ten years. He bragged about it all the time, said they don't make em like that anymore. Then last spring, right in the middle of cutting his back yard, the blade just snapped clean off. Threw a chunk of metal right through his garage window. He just stood there staring at it, not even mad, just kind of defeated. That thing sat in his shed for another month before he finally went and bought a new one.
