My new shed door fell right off its hinges in a Kansas windstorm

It happened Tuesday when a gust hit 50 mph. I'd just finished putting up the whole Tuff Shed kit myself last weekend. The door just folded outward and landed in my tomato plants. Anyone know a good way to anchor these things so they survive the plains?

@jake287 I hear you on the lag bolts, but those standard hinges just aren't built for that kind of force, man. You're better off swapping the whole hinge set for a heavy duty storm-rated one with a third hinge in the middle plus barrel bolts like you said.

Ugh, that's the worst feeling after all that work. Those Kansas winds are no joke, they just rip right through everything. My neighbor lost a whole section of fence last spring in a similar gust. Maybe you could try some longer, heavy duty screws into the frame, or even add a couple of extra hinges?

Did Lisa mention using longer screws? That's a solid start, but for a door that just blew off, I'd go straight to lag bolts into the frame studs. Have you thought about adding a simple sliding barrel bolt at the top and bottom of the door too? It won't help the hinges, but it'll stop the whole panel from swinging out and flying away next time.
