Hot take: pouring a concrete slab without rebar is fine for small sheds
I built a 8x10 shed in my backyard last spring in Tulsa and skipped the rebar to save money. It's been through two freeze-thaw cycles and not a single crack yet. Anyone else go without reinforcement and regret it later?

My buddy down in Broken Arrow put a 10x12 slab without rebar for his tiki bar and it lasted three years before a corner chipped off during a drought. He patched it with quickrete and it's still holding up okay but now he jokes about how his floor looks like a puzzle piece. I think it's one of those things where if your ground is stable and you don't get hard freezes like up north then you might slide by for a while but it's kinda rolling dice with concrete.

Ask @robertsmith if his buddy did any kind of base prep before pouring, like compacting the soil or adding gravel. I mean, that seems like it would matter just as much as the rebar for keeping the slab together over time. Maybe the corner chipped because the ground shifted under it, not because the concrete was too weak on its own.
