Best week ever with my new gazebo last July

Picked up a 12x14 hardtop from Costco for $899. Took 3 days to assemble with my brother. Then that heatwave hit. 95 degrees and I had shade. Set up a table and fan underneath. Read 4 books. My dog wouldn't leave the spot. Neighbor came over and asked where I got it. Anyone else find a gazebo changes how you use your yard?

Your dog knew what was up lol. That heatwave last year was brutal, I remember just melting every time I stepped outside. Having a dedicated shady spot with a fan sounds like a total game changer, especially for reading. I bet your yard feels way more usable now, like an extra room or something. It's smart to grab the hardtop too, those fabric ones never hold up long around here.

Is it really that life changing though? I mean it's a tent with some sides on it. You're saying you read four books and your dog liked the shade. That sounds like a normal afternoon with a beach umbrella. I got a cheap shade sail from Amazon for like forty bucks and it does the same thing. Maybe I'm missing something but I just don't see the big deal over a metal roof.
