Tried fermented feed for the first time, now my coop smells like a brewery

I switched my 6 hens to fermented feed last month because everyone said it saves money and boosts egg yolks, but the bucket reeks and I'm not sure the extra 15 minutes a day is worth it. Honestly, the eggs look a little more orange and they seem to eat less, but my wife is threatening to make me keep the setup in the shed. Has anyone else stuck with it past the smell, or did you go back to dry pellets?
