That $60 'chicken tractor' kit turned out to be a total scam
Bought one of those prefab portable coop kits online back in March, and the wood was so thin a raccoon chewed straight through it in one night, lost three hens before I even noticed. Anyone else have luck building their own from pallets instead of paying for those flimsy kits?

Man, that's rough, and sadly not surprising. Those kits are built for looks, not for actually keeping anything alive out here. I've built two from pallets now, just screw them together and tack on some hardware cloth instead of chicken wire, and they've lasted through a few winters and a couple of determined coons.
