Switched from washing eggs under running water to using a dry scrub method

Used to rinse every egg with water before putting them in the fridge, but then I read that removes the bloom (the natural protective coating). Last month I started using a rough sponge to just brush off the dirt instead, and my eggs keep fresh way longer now - has anyone else made this switch?

Made the same switch about a year ago after reading that too. Dry scrubbing really does keep them fresh weeks longer in my experience, especially if you get farm eggs with a good bloom on them.

Blake, do you notice any difference in how long farm eggs last vs store bought with the dry scrub method?
