My old egg washing routine was a total mess compared to now

I used to wash eggs one by one under the kitchen sink faucet, spending like 15 minutes every morning scrubbing each one with a sponge. Then my neighbor pointed out I was washing off the bloom and making them spoil faster. Now I just grab a bucket of warm water, dunk them all at once, and dry them on a towel in 2 minutes flat. We have 6 Rhode Island Reds, so that's about 2 dozen eggs a week, and this new way saves me hours. Has anyone else switched up their egg cleaning game and found a better method?

Well shoot, I used to be the guy who swore by scrubbing each egg like it was a precious gem. Honestly thought if you didn't get them spotless they'd taste dirty or something. But you got me thinking, maybe I've been wasting my time all these years. Never once considered I was stripping off the natural coating that keeps them fresh. Dunking and drying sounds way smarter, might have to switch it up and see if my eggs last longer.

I get what you're saying but I still scrub my eggs. The bloom might be gone but I go through them fast enough that it doesn't matter, plus I just feel better knowing they're properly clean.
