My neighbor Carol was right about feeding scratch grains at dusk
She kept telling me to switch from morning feedings to evening so the girls would have full crops overnight. Tried it for a week after I got sick of finding eggs under the bushes and now they actually go inside the coop before dark. Anybody else have a neighbor with a weird trick that actually worked?

Why do old-timers always have the most random, dead-on solutions? It's like they've been collecting life hacks since before we were born. Carol probably learned that from her grandmother and now you're getting eggs in the right spot.
