Just realized the $40 heat lamp from Tractor Supply saved my flock in that cold snap
I grabbed a $40 heat lamp back in October thinking it was overpriced and maybe a waste of cash. Then that night in January hit 9 degrees here in Omaha and two of my hens were huddled and puffed up, but that lamp kept them going while my neighbor lost a bird. So am I crazy for thinking the cheap stuff is the gamble and the extra twenty bucks is what actually matters?
