Am I the only one who thinks hens don't need a rooster to be happy?

I see so many posts here about people stressing over getting a rooster for their flock, like the girls are lonely or depressed without one. I read this study from UC Davis a few months back that showed hens actually have lower stress hormones when there's no rooster around. They just bicker less and sort out their own pecking order without the constant mating pressure. My 6 hens have been fine for 2 years with zero boys, they lay fine, they dust bathe, they act like a little gang. Does anyone else keep all females and notice they seem calmer? Or am I just lucky with my girls?
