Water filter handle broke on day 3 of a 60 mile trip
Went through the Wind River Range last August. My pump filter handle snapped clean off near Titcomb Basin. Lucky I packed a spare, but it got me thinking. The old school squeeze bags have way fewer moving parts. I switched to a gravity system after that trip. Less fiddling, and I can filter while setting up camp. Anyone else ditched their pump for something simpler?

Wind River is no joke, I broke my old pump handle on day two up near Green River Lakes a few years back and had to borrow someone's squeeze bag. I've been rocking a gravity filter ever since, it's honestly the best thing I've done for my pack weight and sanity on trips like that.
