Vent: Lost the trail marker near the Blue Ridge Parkway last weekend and it threw off my whole rhythm

I was following what I thought was a fresh blaze north of the Crabtree Falls loop, but it turned out to be a faded hunting sign instead. Has anyone else had trouble with inconsistent markers on that stretch?

Started marking the trail with my phone GPS after that happened near Roanoke.
