I finally figured out how to avoid the crowds on the Wonderland Trail

Honestly, I was so sick of planning a trip to Mount Rainier and seeing every permit gone in seconds for the popular spots. Last August, I tried booking a permit starting from the Mowich Lake entrance instead of Longmire, which everyone goes for. Tbh, it was way easier to get a spot and the first two days were way more peaceful. Has anyone else had luck with less common entry points on busy trails?

Yeah, the permit number was 22-0871. It took almost five months just to get the paperwork through the county planning office. They kept asking for more site plan details... it was a whole thing.
