Chose the Enchantments over the Wonderland Trail and got chased off by a goat at 3am
Went back and forth for weeks on which permit to burn my one shot on, ended up picking the Enchantments in Washington because the permits for the Wonderland Trail filled up in like 4 minutes. First night at Colchuck Lake a mountain goat walked straight through my camp at 3am and knocked my cook pot down the rocks, scared the daylights out of me. Anyone else have a route decision come back to bite you in a way you did not see coming?

Oh man, my buddy had something like that happen on a trip to Glacier last summer. He picked a site near a lake because the view was unreal, then woke up to a black bear sniffing his food bag about ten feet away. He yelled and it took off, but he spent the rest of the night sitting in his car with the heat blasting. He still says it was the best trip he's ever taken, which I do not get at all.
