The 2018 snowstorm in Denver taught me to read the fine print on quotes
Back in March 2018, I needed to move my old Corolla from Denver to Salt Lake City. I picked the cheapest quote online, about $650, without checking what it actually covered. The driver showed up two days late, said my car would ride on an open trailer, and then charged an extra $180 for "mountain route fuel surcharge." I argued, but the contract had it buried on page three in small type. That trip cost me more than a mid-range company would have charged upfront, and I learned to ask every carrier about surcharges before signing. Has anyone else gotten hit with a fee that wasn't obvious until pickup day?

Yeah wow, learned that with a tow hitch install once. Fine print gets everyone.
