Found a guy in Charlotte who runs carrier complaints through a 3 question filter and it actually works
I got burned once by a carrier who quoted me $900 then tacked on a $250 fee at delivery for a car going from Ohio to Florida. Tried 2 more companies and both had similar stories buried in reviews that I missed because I was only reading the star rating. Started checking whether reviewers had posted in other threads and whether the carrier's DOT number showed up in more than one complaint, and found a carrier out of Charlotte with a clean record going back 14 months. Anyone else use a filter like this or do you just gamble on the top search results?
That $250 surprise fee at delivery hits close to home, had almost the exact same thing happen to me a couple years back. Reading the buried reviews instead of just the star rating is the move, that's where the real stories live.
