Dropped $180 on a broker instead of going direct, and I'd do it again
Everyone on here says cut out the broker and call the carrier yourself to save cash, but my $180 broker fee got my Civic from Phoenix to Seattle in 4 days while two direct quotes sat on my car for over two weeks. Maybe I got lucky, but the dispatch guy actually picked up his phone at 9pm when the driver went quiet on me. What's your worst direct-to-carrier horror story, because I'm not convinced the savings are worth it.
So what did those direct carriers actually tell you when you called to ask why your car sat for two weeks? Sounds like they just didn't have a truck heading that way and never bothered to say so.
