A guy at the Tampa car show said he only trusts reviews with photos of the actual truck, and now I'm second guessing everything
Last Saturday I was at a cars and coffee in Tampa and this older guy named Ray started talking to me about shipping his Chevelle down from Ohio. He said he ignores any review that doesn't show the actual carrier truck and the driver, because brokers can fake paperwork all day. I've booked three transports in five years and never once asked for a truck photo, just went off star ratings. Now I'm wondering if I got lucky or if the good reviews I trusted were just cleaner fakes. So which side are you on, do you need photo proof before you book, or is a 4.8 rating with 200 reviews good enough for you?
Ray is onto something, and it bugs me that I never thought about it. I shipped a truck from Phoenix to Atlanta two years back and the guy I booked had a perfect 5.0 with like 150 reviews, but the day of pickup some random dude showed up in a truck with no name on it and I just handed over the keys anyway. The truck got there fine, but looking back I got lucky and I had zero way of knowing who was actually driving it. Now I want to see the rig and the guy's face before I send a deposit, because a rating can be bought but a photo of the actual truck and driver is a lot harder to fake.
