Why does nobody talk about torque sticks breaking?

I was changing tires on a Ford F-150 at my shop last Tuesday and one of my torque sticks just snapped in half. It was a 100 ft-lb Sunex, nothing fancy, and it just gave out on the third lug nut. Anybody else had this happen or did I just get a bad batch from the parts store?

Man same thing happened to me with a Tekton set last month. Snapped right off on the second lug of a Ram 2500, scared the crap out of me. I think these cheap torque sticks just have bad QC sometimes, you're not alone.

Cheap tools break" is right, but I've noticed this same pattern with everything these days. Even mid-range stuff fails way faster than it used to. Like my buddy's microwave died after 18 months and the repair guy told him they just don't build them to last anymore. Torque sticks are no different I guess.

Cheap tools break. That's just how it goes sometimes. Snap-on costs more for a reason. You get what you pay for.
