What changed in my brake job after switching to ceramic pads?

I did a brake job on my 2015 Civic last weekend, swapping from semi-metallic to ceramic pads I got at AutoZone for $45. The old pads left this nasty black dust on my wheels after just a week, but the ceramics have kept them clean for 3 days now. Has anyone else noticed a big difference in dust or stopping power with ceramic vs semi-metallic?

Haha, congrats on joining the "no more black lung on my wheels" club. It's like getting a free brake job just for the aesthetic upgrade alone. Honestly, the only thing ceramics have changed for me is making me wonder how I ever lived with rims that looked like they rolled through a coal mine. Your stopping power might feel a tiny bit different at first, maybe a little less bite when cold, but it'll get better once they bed in. Just give it a few hard stops from 30mph and you'll forget the old pads even existed.

Found my stopping power actually improved after those hard stops just like @corad84 mentioned.
