Watched a lube tech put 6 quarts in a 4 quart pan because the book said 4.5

Kid came back from lunch and just dumped the whole jug in without checking the dipstick once, and I caught it at 6 quarts on a Corolla that takes 4.4. I've seen this three times now at my shop in Boise and every time it's because someone read the spec sheet and stopped there. Do you all make new guys pull the stick even on the easy ones, or is that just me being paranoid?
