That Tuesday in Phoenix where every bolt fought back
That Tuesday in Phoenix where every bolt fought back. Had a full day of brake jobs lined up last week in Phoenix and it was like the universe had it out for me. First car, a 2014 Civic, had a seized caliper bolt that took 45 minutes and a torch just to break free. Then the second car came in with rotors that were welded on so bad I had to use a 3-foot breaker bar and honestly thought I'd snap the hub. By 3pm I was covered in rust dust and my impact gun died, so I finished the last two cars with hand tools. Wondering if anyone else has those days where the simplest work turns into a battle, or if it's just my luck with Arizona heat and corrosion.

Used to think shop days like that were just bad luck, but this changed my mind completely. The bolt seized on the caliper makes sense after the first hour, but when the second rotor fights you that hard, you start realizing it's not coincidence. Phoenix heat does something to metal, turns everything brittle and stuck. Corrosion out here builds up fast, especially on cars that have seen a few summers. Your story lined up with what I've seen in my own garage, and now I check for trouble signs before I even start. That kind of day is just the cost of doing work in this climate.
